Prof. LIN Mang Receives Shen-su Sun Award
Prof. LIN Mang from the Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, the Chinese Academy of Sciences (GIGCAS) was presented with theShen-su Sun Award by the Shen-su Sun Foundation at the 2026 Goldschmidt Conference, which was held from July 12 to 17, 2026 in Montreal, Canada.
The Shen-su Sun Award recognizes exceptional geoscientists younger than 40 years who work in the Chinese mainland, and China's Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao, in commemoration of late Dr. Shen-su Sun for his pioneering contributions to the geochemistry of the solid Earth and mantle dynamics.
LIN’s research mainly focuses on developing fundamental physical chemistry theories of isotope effects and state-of-the-art analytical techniques for both radioactive and stable isotopes to address major scientific challenges in the geosciences, ranging from space weather and atmospheric chemistry to surface and subsurface biogeochemical processes. LIN is the fourth scientist from GIGCAS that has received the award, which highlights the sustained international influence and outstanding contributions of the institute in the field of geochemistry.
The Goldschmidt Conference is the foremost annual, international conference for the presentation and exchange of scientific ideas in geochemistry and related subjects, co-organized by the Geochemical Society and the European Association of Geochemistry.
