State Key Laboratory of Advanced Environmental Technology (SKLAET)
The State Key Laboratory of Advanced Environmental Technology (SKLAET) was established in 2025 through adjusting the former Stake Key Laboratory of Organic Geochemistry (established in 1989) of GIGCAS, as well as incorporating leading research groups from the University of Science and Technology of China and the Institute of Urban Environment of the Chinese Academy of Sciences.
Dedicated to providing robust scientific and technological support for addressing pollution through prevention and remediation, SKLAET focuses on accurate identification and prevention of composite pollution, and is strategically oriented towards three main research directions: (1) environmental monitoring and detecting equipment, (2) advanced materials and technologies for pollution prevention and control, and (3) cross-media collaborative treatment of composite pollution.
SKLAET has been playing a leading role in China in research regarding processes and underlying mechanisms of regional organic pollution, technologies for diesel vehicle emission control, biological wastewater treatment and real-time monitoring, and development of high-end environmental mass spectrometry technologies and instruments.
