Monitoring and evaluation of quality and bearing capacity of resources like water, land, and soil in Guangdong Province were carried out by means of multiple techniques, and a series of new concepts, such as loss of water resource quality, bearing capacity and sustainability of water resource, sustainable development index system based on resource bearing capacity, green GDP computation system, modified modernization evaluation index, relative resource bearing capacity, agricultural sustainable development index system, and remote sensing monitoring and evaluation of urbanization process, were proposed, and their related computational models were developed. By means of these models, a dynamic research, computation and assessment were performed in regard to the effect on resource and environmental of global change and environment capacity, natural, economic and social resource bearing capacity, sustainable development level and capacity, green GDP quantity, modernization level, agriculture sustainable development capacity, urbanization process and environmental impact, energy sustainable development, etc., in Guangdong Province and in each subordinate administrative region or city.
