Research Interests:

My work focuses on microstructure and surface properties of clay minerals and diatomaceous earth, as well as their interface reactions. Exploring the origin and evolution of diatomaceous earth from diatom to diatomaceous opal is my main project currently based on modern micro-mineralogical techniques. Moreover, the changes of clay minerals by desiliconization in soil, in particular, in red earth during weathering processes attract my attention and some work has begun.
