Research

My research interests include oil gas geochemistry and environmental remote sensing. I am working currently on gas source kitchen evaluation, gas generation kinetics, petroleum expulsion as well as gas source identification of deep marine gas, coal-deriving gas, tighten gas and shale gas. I am also interested in land use/cover change detection using multi-temporal remote sensing data and its eco-environmental effects on soil erosion, non-point pollution, atmospheric particular matter deposition and in-urban flooding in fast economic developing and rapid urbanization areas such as Pearl River Delta (PRD) area.

My current projects include the evaluation of gas systems in tighten gases of Sichuan and Erdos basins, source origin identifications of deep gases in Tarim, Sichuan and Erdos basins as well as isotopic kinetics of gases from different sources. The remote sensing projects include land use/cover change and its effect on water quality of Dongjiang River, modeling PM deposition flux in Guangdong using MODIS remote sensing, GIS and field observation, as well as urban heat island of cities in PRD area using thermal remote sensing.
