Dr. Bi is a Professor at Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. She received her B.A. (1994) in Environmental Engineering from Technological University of Taiyuan, M.S. (1997) in Environmental Engineering from Architectural University of Harbin, and Ph.D. (2000) in Environmental Science from Research Center for Eco-Environmental Science, Chinese Academy of Sciences. Dr. Bi is experienced in single and bulk characterization of aerosol by GC-MS, IC, IRMS SPAMS and so on. Her research has been published in refereed journals. She was 2014-2018 most cited Chinese researchers in Environmental Science of Elsevier.

Research Interests:

Dr. Bi’s research is to better understand the physical and chemical processes in the air, which determine the properties of aerosol particles and their effects on atmospheric chemistry, radiative forcing and climate, air quality and public health, biogeochemistry, and etc. By combination of laboratory studies and field measurements, she has been using to approach this goal. Currently she is very interested in the following research topics:

1)      Characterization of single and bulk aerosol particles

2)      Formation and scavenging of particles by in-cloud process

3)      Identification of organic nitrogen molecular markers

4)      Aqueous formation mechanism of secondary aerosol
