Resume:

Shizhen was born in June 1989, from Wenzhou, Zhejiang Province. In 2011, she graduated from Jinan University with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering. In the same year, she received a full scholarship from the China Scholarship Council and Unilever to study for a doctorate at Lancaster University, UK, under the co-supervision of Prof. Kevin Jones and Dr. Andy Sweetman. In March 2016, she passed the defense of her doctoral dissertation with the title of "Modelling the Fate and Bioaccumulation Potential of Organic Chemicals in China". In June 2016, she joined Guangzhou Institute of Geochemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences as a postdoc. During the post-doctoral period, she focused on the fate of persistent organic pollutants and population exposure. She has successively received a number of grants such as the "Pearl River Talent Program-Overseas Young Talents Introduction Program" of Guangdong Province, the General Funding and Special Funding of the Postdoctoral Science Fund. In August 2020, she was awarded the "Tu Guangchi Outstanding Young Scholar" (B) by the institute and obtained the position of Research assassinate. She was promoted to associate professor in December 2021.
